In the fall of 2019 Frank (Duet for Theremin and Lap Steel) sent me a set of amazing slide guitar tracks and asked if I wanted to contribute to them. Of course I did! I added various layers of percussion and processing to them. We sent versions back and forth over the next several months, resulting in the tracks on Six Feet Apart. It didn’t strike me until recently that it was a very odd approach. We are two live improvisers, living in the same city, yet chose to do a remote collaboration. It’s almost as if we anticipated the current situation, in which remote collaboration is the only available avenue for groups of musicians to work together. So consider it recordings for social distancing, the preview edition. – Klimchak
